It is always hard to lose a final but especially with the last kick of the game. Woodlawn has gone into this tournament hoping to be champions for the third time in a row.
In the group stage, we comfortably progressed top of the group, with two wins and a draw. In the semifinals, we controlled the game and beat Eden 3-0 to go into the final against Whitehead. Here we couldn’t get another goal needed with the game close to ending 1-1. But with seconds to go, Whitehead scored to win the game 2-1 and take home the trophy.
Hard luck boys, a great competition and a hard fought final. We will learn in defeat and bounce back in our next one. Well done lads for your hard work for the school this season. Come on the Under 10s who start next week.
